The Government of India has announced major changes in PAN application forms and documentation requirements, effective from 1 April 2026.

🔄 Replacement of Existing PAN Forms
❌ Old Forms (Valid till 31 March 2026)
- Form 49A – Indian Citizens (Individual & Non-Individual)
- Form 49AA – Foreign Citizens (Individual & Non-Individual)
- PAN Change/Correction Form
✅ New Forms (Effective from 1 April 2026)
- F093 – Individual (Indian Citizen)
- F094 – Non-Individual (Indian Entities)
- F095 – Individual (Foreign Citizen)
- F096 – Non-Individual (Foreign Entities)
👉 Separate correction forms will now be used for:
- Indian Applicants
- Foreign Applicants

1️⃣ Aadhaar No Longer Valid as Proof of Date of Birth
- Aadhaar cannot be used as DOB proof in:
- eKYC Mode
- Scan-based applications
- Physical applications

- Individuals:
- Residence Address is mandatory
- Communication address can be:
- Residence / Office / Representative Assessee
- Non-Individuals:

3️⃣ Mobile Number is Now Mandatory 📱
- Required for:
- Individuals
- Companies / Firms / Trusts
4️⃣ Representative Assessee (RA) Expanded
Now required for:
- Minors
- Legally incapable individuals
- All Non-Individuals (Companies, Firms, Trusts, etc.)
📜 Revised Proof of Date of Birth (DOB) List
🧒 For Individuals Born On/After 01-10-2023
- Birth Certificate is Mandatory
Accepted documents include:
- Birth Certificate
- Indian Passport
- Driving License
- Voter ID Card
- Pension Payment Order
- Domicile Certificate
- Marriage Certificate
- Matriculation Certificate
- Government-issued Photo ID
- CGHS / ECHS Card
- Affidavit before Magistrate
❌ Fields Removed from New PAN Forms
The following fields are completely removed:
- Applicant’s Abbreviated Name
- Applicant’s Title (Shri/Smt/Kumari/M/s)
- Applicant’s Known Names
